Director - Major Gifts

Associate Director: Minimum 8 years of fundraising or relationship management experience, including work with major donors and/or family foundations. Director: Minimum 10 years of progressively senior experience in major gift fundraising or nonprofit development, with management experience. Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with high emotional intelligence. Organized, detail-oriented, and strategic. Experience using donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, or equivalent).

Design and implement a comprehensive individual major gifts strategy. Build and manage a portfolio of 75-100 major donors and prospects. Develop individualized cultivation and solicitation plans. Prepare donor communications, proposals, and stewardship materials. Track interactions in Salesforce CRM. Identify new donor prospects. Cultivate and solicit gifts in the five- and six-figure range. Plan and execute donor meetings, events, and site visits. Ensure timely and personalized stewardship for major donors. Collaborate with program leaders to develop cases for support. Serve as a thought partner on individual giving strategies. Develop gift agreements and manage restricted revenue. Represent Winrock at donor events and external meetings. Stay current on philanthropy trends. Contribute to a culture of philanthropy within the organization.
