Requirements
- 5–7 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience with a focus on employee relations.
- Expert knowledge of Canadian employment law (BC, Ontario) and US federal/state employment law (FLSA, ADA, FMLA).
- Proven experience managing investigations, performance management, and complex accommodation requests.
- Experience administering medical, parental, and disability leaves under US/Canadian legislation.
- Strong proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel for report building and data analysis.
- Comfortable using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot for drafting, analysis, and workflow automation.
- Ability to balance employee advocacy with business objectives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Excellent written communication skills for creating investigation reports, policies, and termination documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
- CPHR or SHRM certification is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for employee relations, including complex investigations and conflict resolution.
- Manage end-to-end terminations, including documentation and legal coordination.
- Advise managers on performance improvement plans, disciplinary processes, and compliance.
- Administer and track leaves of absence in accordance with Canadian and US legislation.
- Support organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives.
- Leverage AI tools to draft documentation, analyze workforce data, and streamline HR operations.
- Collaborate with Talent teams on recruitment and onboarding support during transitions.
