- Proven experience in M&A or Corporate Development environments.
- High emotional intelligence and strong executive presence.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and making trade-offs.
- Financial Services or Wealth Management industry experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose current seller compensation plans during diligence.
- Design aligned compensation approaches in partnership with deal teams, Finance, and Legal.
- Model compensation scenarios and articulate trade-offs for deal structuring.
- Maintain scalable compensation frameworks, playbooks, and governance documentation for M&A.
- Translate compensation commitments into post-close execution and phased transition cycles.
- Act as the escalation owner for M&A compensation issues.
- Build and maintain a centralized repository of historical M&A compensation decisions.
- Present Mercer’s compensation philosophy and programs to incoming partner firm teams.
