  • High emotional intelligence and strong executive presence.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making trade-offs.
  • Financial Services or Wealth Management industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose current seller compensation plans during diligence.
  • Design aligned compensation approaches in partnership with deal teams, Finance, and Legal.
  • Model compensation scenarios and articulate trade-offs for deal structuring.
  • Maintain scalable compensation frameworks, playbooks, and governance documentation for M&A.
  • Translate compensation commitments into post-close execution and phased transition cycles.
  • Act as the escalation owner for M&A compensation issues.
  • Build and maintain a centralized repository of historical M&A compensation decisions.
  • Present Mercer’s compensation philosophy and programs to incoming partner firm teams.
