Engineering Manager, Platform Services

7+ years building production software with hands-on experience as a senior engineer 5+ years leading engineering teams of 10+ people Deep experience building or scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms in AWS Strong backend expertise (Java/Spring Boot, or similar modern frameworks) with production experience at scale Experience with modern frontend technologies and API design Track record of measurable platform improvements Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and incident management at scale Genuinely excited about AI/ML capabilities (LLMs, RAG systems, agent frameworks) Strong architectural opinions, adaptable based on context and data Clear communicator who translates between technical complexity and business value Comfortable with ambiguity and confident making decisions Process-minded but anti-bureaucracy Low-ego leader with strategic thinking and hands-on leadership Proven ability to give direct, constructive feedback Experience in adtech, martech, or data-intensive B2B SaaS environments (preferred) Background integrating with DSPs, CDPs, or similar marketing ecosystem platforms (preferred) Experience with Java/Spring, LLM agent frameworks, React, and real-time streaming architectures (preferred) Track record building and growing high performing software engineering teams (preferred) History of driving adoption of AI tooling and modern development practices (preferred) Experience in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments (preferred)

Lead transformation of platform into an AI-native environment with agentic systems Assess current architecture and drive modernization for measurable outcomes Own platform reliability, scalability, and integrations Maintain hands-on involvement in critical architecture decisions Set engineering standards balancing quality with velocity Champion AI tooling throughout the development lifecycle Lead, mentor, and retain software engineers Conduct 1:1s, career planning, and performance reviews Create growth paths and development opportunities Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence Manage hiring, onboarding, and team composition Remove roadblocks and protect the team from distractions Drive adoption of modern practices and AI tooling Partner with Product to shape roadmap, estimate accurately, and deliver with predictability Lead incident response from detection to resolution Align engineering strategy with business goals and product priorities Monitor team health, velocity, and delivery risks
