Cabling Superintendent (Contract to Hire)

Minimum 7+ years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or low voltage construction Previous experience working in data center or high-density cable environments Prior experience at field leadership/superintendent/foreman level Hands-on technical competence in copper and fiber systems Deep familiarity with standards and best practices (TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, ANSI/TIA, BICSI) Strong ability to read, interpret, and enforce construction/telecommunications drawings Experience with testing and certification equipment Proficiency with project management tools and scheduling software Strong organization, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to climb ladders, access ceiling plenum spaces, and lift cable reels Safety mindset, familiarity with OSHA/site safety regulations

Oversee and manage all onsite structured cabling work Read, interpret, and enforce design drawings, specifications, and contract documents Develop the cabling work plan/schedule and set milestones Plan resource allocation (labor, subcontractors, tools, materials) Monitor field progress daily and identify/mitigate risks Conduct quality control and inspections Oversee testing and certification Manage change orders, RFIs, and documentation Serve as the main on-site technical interface to the client and GC Ensure compliance with safety rules and standards Mentor, train, and supervise technicians and subcontractors Maintain inventory of cabling materials and equipment Attend coordination meetings and lead cabling trade coordination Track job costs, productivity, and forecasts Promote continuous improvement in methods and processes Complete ongoing security awareness training
