Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in defense sales and business development Successful track record of winning DOD contracts Previous military experience, particularly in a CBRN-related field, is highly desired Demonstrated experience with DOD’s procurement and contracting processes Proven ability to work with and influence senior business and government leaders Established understanding of Government Sales and Federal Contracting Ability to complete work within required deadlines Ability to carry out skillful negotiations Strong communication skills Ability to take care of customers’ needs while following company procedures Ability to obtain security clearance, if required Must possess a valid driver’s license Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs) Experience with Oracle ERP, Epicor, Salesforce, Slack App, Concur, and ADP App is required
Responsibilities:
Exceed assigned revenue and profit goals Establish relationships with customers and identify opportunities Maintain and build customer and vendor relationships Manage and provide a weekly pipeline of sales opportunities Develop opportunities and insight into the market at Headquarter or Programmatic level Develop requirements with customers for future bids Travel to client locations and attend industry events Develop competitive and customer intelligence Provide price quotations and establish contract terms Learn and utilize internal systems for processing quotes and orders Recommend products based on customer needs Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports Assist other Business Development Managers Process quotes accurately Develop a marketing strategy to access new contacts Implement an inside/outside team approach for sales Conduct market research and assist in developing market strategy Develop and execute a business development strategy to achieve revenue targets Identify, qualify, and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities Build and nurture relationships with government personnel and military stakeholders Lead the development of compelling and compliant proposals Maintain deep understanding of DOD programs and acquisition processes Represent the company at industry events Provide accurate sales forecasts and report on business development activities Interface and communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and partners Responsible for all aspects of the customer sales process Submit required reports to management on time
