Database Administrator

Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience in database administration, website management, or a related field. Proven experience maintaining and optimizing databases supporting high-availability websites. Demonstrated expertise leading or participating in website/database migration or consolidation projects. In-depth knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and related scripting. Strong understanding of web-based application architectures, content management systems, and integration practices. Experience in database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Working familiarity with FISMA, Privacy Act, Section 508, and SSA compliance standards.

Administer, monitor, and update all databases supporting SSA program websites. Perform regular website maintenance, including updates, bug fixes, and performance monitoring. Lead technical planning and implementation for consolidating two SSA websites. Develop and execute migration strategies for seamless content and database integration. Design and implement database backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures. Coordinate with stakeholders to align website management with operational goals. Ensure websites and databases comply with SSA, FISMA, Privacy Act, and Section 508 requirements. Analyze database and website performance and implement enhancements. Prepare and maintain documentation for all database and website management activities. Provide technical expertise on website/database management and consolidation.
