Requirements

  • Active AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with medical record review and healthcare coding processes.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding guidelines and documentation requirements.
  • Experience analyzing data to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), and PowerPoint.
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Must reside in Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, or Mississippi.
  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining a secure, dedicated workspace that protects confidential healthcare information.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Risk Coder (CRC) certification preferred.
  • Experience working directly with healthcare providers preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment programs and methodologies preferred.
  • Experience using data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI to develop education strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute risk adjustment education strategies tailored to assigned provider groups and organizational goals.
  • Review data, reports, and performance insights to identify documentation and coding improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct educational sessions with healthcare providers focused on quality improvement, accurate documentation, and coding best practices.
  • Create customized training materials, presentations, webinars, and educational resources based on provider needs and program priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and relationship owners to align education strategies with broader healthcare initiatives.
  • Monitor provider performance trends and adjust education approaches based on findings and evolving requirements.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on Medicare risk adjustment, coding guidelines, and documentation improvement topics.
  • Partner with coding education teams and leadership to share best practices and continuously improve educational programs.
  • Support compliant documentation practices by ensuring training content aligns with applicable coding standards and regulations.
  • Travel periodically to provider offices and attend in-person meetings as needed.
