- Run assigned exempt and non-exempt payroll cycles, including overtime, regular-rate premiums, bonuses, commissions, off-cycle runs, and corrections.
- Maintain pay rates, worksite assignments, deductions, and direct deposit in the CoAdvantage PEO platform.
- Process new hires, terminations, and pay changes with HR; review timecards and drive timely supervisor approvals.
- Verify retroactive pay approvals, confirm hours have not already been paid, and maintain the retro pay tracker and support.
- Prepare payroll journal entries coded to the correct entity, program, and account.
- Reconcile wages payable, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, accrued PTO, and clearing accounts; research payroll-to-GL variances and own payroll accruals for month-end close.
- Apply federal, state, and local payroll rules; support multi-state tax filings and notices, and process wage garnishments and support orders.
- Maintain traceable payroll documentation and prepare reconciliations, schedules, and sample support for financial statement and benefit plan audits.
- Document payroll procedures, maintain supervisor FAQs and decision guides, and use AI and automation to reduce manual work and errors.
