Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental, natural, or physical sciences, engineering, GHG emissions accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience, training, or familiarity with technical and regulatory aspects of mine methane capture and destruction.
- Solid understanding of GHG emissions and carbon accounting principles.
- Knowledge of verification and auditing standards.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Outlook, and the full MS Office suite.
- Strong writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel for short-term assignments.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex GHG emissions reduction and removal project reviews accurately and independently.
- Provide technical support to external stakeholders including project developers and regulators.
- Develop and maintain institutional systems for project record keeping and tracking regulatory guidance.
- Attend site visits and perform project audits.
- Lead methodology development and updates for methane-related projects.
- Serve as team lead for methane methodologies and mentor junior industrial program staff.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders and resolve contentious matters.
- Represent the organization at working groups and conferences.
