Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the publishing industry.
- Deep network of connections in literary/talent agencies, traditional publishing houses, or influencer/content creator spaces.
- Experience as an acquisitions editor, literary agent, or in sales/business development roles.
- Demonstrated ability to execute strategic plans and achieve data-driven results.
- Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking and press-facing abilities.
- Strong ability to assess campaign quality, innovation, and creativity.
- Proactive, relationship-driven approach to business development.
Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with promising creators, publishers, and authors.
- Track creator interactions using CRM software to ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
- Own relationships with top-tier creators to retain business and support successful launches.
- Develop and refine category-specific educational resources for creators.
- Serve as the face of Kickstarter at industry events, press appearances, and community forums.
- Collaborate with institutional partners to build a referral pipeline.
- Contribute to revenue and creator retention targets for the publishing category.
- Surface product and policy feedback from the creator community to internal teams.
