Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in analytics, data, or M&E roles.
  • Proven experience building and leading teams, including managing managers.
  • Strong technical fluency in SQL and dbt-style workflows.
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery preferred).
  • Ability to design and maintain robust data architectures and metrics layers.
  • Experience defining data quality standards and monitoring data integrity.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical executive audiences.
  • Passion for Educate!'s mission of improving youth outcomes in East Africa.
  • Demonstrated ability to think in indicators and bridge the gap between technical output and organizational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy, operating model, and priorities for the performance metrics function.
  • Build and develop the team through coaching, clear leveling frameworks, and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Design and own end-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, warehousing, transformation, and delivery.
  • Establish self-service analytics and dashboards to empower product and implementation teams.
  • Partner with the central Tech team to ensure data pipeline standards are met.
  • Define and enforce quality standards for the analytics engineering layer, including dbt models and BigQuery metrics.
  • Act as a cross-functional partner to Tech, Evaluation, and Product departments.
