Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in analytics, data, or M&E roles.
- Proven experience building and leading teams, including managing managers.
- Strong technical fluency in SQL and dbt-style workflows.
- Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery preferred).
- Ability to design and maintain robust data architectures and metrics layers.
- Experience defining data quality standards and monitoring data integrity.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical executive audiences.
- Passion for Educate!'s mission of improving youth outcomes in East Africa.
- Demonstrated ability to think in indicators and bridge the gap between technical output and organizational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategy, operating model, and priorities for the performance metrics function.
- Build and develop the team through coaching, clear leveling frameworks, and a culture of continuous learning.
- Design and own end-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, warehousing, transformation, and delivery.
- Establish self-service analytics and dashboards to empower product and implementation teams.
- Partner with the central Tech team to ensure data pipeline standards are met.
- Define and enforce quality standards for the analytics engineering layer, including dbt models and BigQuery metrics.
- Act as a cross-functional partner to Tech, Evaluation, and Product departments.
