Requirements
- Experience integrating AI tools, automation, and code-assisted workflows into the design process.
- Ability to utilize AI and augmented design practices in daily work, including coaching and mentoring sessions.
- Past work experience relevant to consumer products, remote work, WordPress, e-commerce, or site editors.
- Ability to identify user needs, define clear solutions, and deliver those through detailed design.
- Flexibility to design in both low and high fidelity.
- Ability to integrate feedback, validate, and iterate based on customer insights and support team data.
- Ability to align business strategies and technical limitations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma.
- Familiarity with product development cycles.
- Strong UI and visual design skills with a portfolio showcasing craft in both written and visual form.
Responsibilities
- Design exceptional products from start to finish, participating in all phases of design, from definition to development and optimization.
- Iterate actively with prototypes at all levels of design fidelity, informed by user research, market trends, and business goals.
- Communicate and share often in written, verbal, and visual forms to create alignment and move the work toward implementation.
- Collaborate regularly with engineers to ship high-quality experiences.
- Contribute to both Automattic products and the larger open-source and design communities.
