Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in email, SMS, or loyalty marketing, ideally in an agency or startup environment.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills — you're organized, clear, and empathetic.
  • Hands-on experience with retention tools like Alpine IQ, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Happy Cabbage, or similar.
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking with detailed execution.
  • A self-starter mindset with a desire to lead and grow with a team.
  • Familiarity with the cannabis industry is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute retention marketing strategies across email, SMS, and loyalty platforms for cannabis retail clients.
  • Create, implement, and manage automated and custom weekly marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather assets, campaign briefs, requirements, and feedback in weekly meetings.
  • Design and optimize campaign templates for performance and engagement.
  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance metrics, using data to inform strategy.
  • Ensure campaigns align with clients’ brand voice and goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal marketing teams to ensure cohesive campaign integration.
  • Stay current with retention marketing trends and best practices, particularly within the cannabis retail space.
  • Help build out internal processes and documentation to scale retention marketing efforts.
