Requirements
- Deep knowledge of the state workforce ecosystem, agency structures, and performance metrics.
- A meaningful, activatable network in workforce development, state labor, or economic development.
- Familiarity with state government procurement processes, including RFPs, sole-source processes, and MSAs.
- Experience managing long sales cycles (6–12+ months) with disciplined pipeline management.
- Strong consultative sales instincts and ability to connect solutions to complex problems.
- High agency and strong written communication skills.
- Ability to travel approximately once or twice per month for stakeholder meetings, conferences, and offsites.
- Bonus: Experience selling SaaS or technology platforms to state workforce or labor agencies.
- Bonus: Working knowledge of federal funding programs like WIOA, RESEA, or TAA.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities with state workforce agencies, labor departments, and economic development bodies.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to signed contract.
- Build trusted relationships across buyer organizations, including program directors, commissioners, and procurement leads.
- Collaborate with internal teams on RFP strategy to ensure competitive and accurate responses.
- Monitor state budget cycles, policy priorities, and federal funding flows to inform GTM strategy.
- Develop and document repeatable sales processes and playbooks for state government business.
- Provide internal teams with market intelligence and customer feedback.
