Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in content creation, digital media, journalism, marketing communications, or a related field.
- Portfolio demonstrating range across video, audio, and written formats and evidence of strategic ownership.
- Strong video production skills, including shooting, editing, and post-production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro or After Effects.
- Demonstrated experience producing or editing podcast or audio content.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt voice to fit various audiences.
- Proficiency with CMS platforms, particularly WordPress.
- Experience using AI content tools for production and workflow improvement.
- Strong project management skills, including managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and cross-functional peers.
- Deep commitment to Code for America's mission.
Responsibilities
- Conceive and produce content across multiple formats including video, written features, blog posts, case studies, reports, and podcast-style audio.
- Write and edit compelling, audience-first copy that adapts in tone and depth across channels.
- Shoot, edit, and deliver video content end-to-end, including graphics, captions, and platform-ready formatting.
- Own and drive content strategy for key functional areas, translating organizational priorities into content plans.
- Lead content calendar planning, identifying timely hooks and opportunities to repurpose existing content.
- Manage content publishing across web, blog, and email while ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to surface stories and translate complex work into engaging content.
- Lead content projects end-to-end, managing timelines, reviews, and approvals.
