Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing agendas for technical, academic, or policy-focused events.
  • Genuine familiarity with the AI safety field, its key questions, players, and debates.
  • Track record of original written output (framing documents, research summaries, essays, or reports).
  • Proven ability to manage high-status or technical stakeholders and complex relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Coda, Airtable).
  • Experience building or improving CRM processes and communications systems.
  • Strong motivation to contribute to AI safety and the future of the field.
  • Ability to work quickly across a high-volume portfolio of diverse event types.
  • Collaborative and low-ego approach with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel approximately one trip per month for events.

Responsibilities

  • Design agendas for FAR.AI’s events portfolio, including session structure, speaker selection, and attendee composition.
  • Propose speakers and attendees with judgment on who moves conversations forward.
  • Develop event theory of change documents, briefing notes, and framing materials.
  • Lead speaker invitation and engagement processes.
  • Produce written content such as research summaries, framing documents, and post-event reports.
  • Develop participant strategies to identify the right expertise and perspectives for each event.
  • Design and steward post-event continuation activities like working groups or virtual follow-ons.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior researchers, policymakers, and lab representatives.
