Requirements
- 7+ years of professional backend experience (10+ preferred), including time at a senior or staff level.
- Proficiency in Python with strong experience in Django and/or FastAPI.
- Strong experience with concurrent and asynchronous Python, specifically asyncio and task queues like Celery.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Experience with message brokers or streaming platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of system design, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated testing tools like pytest, tox, and Playwright.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Advanced English skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Hands-on observability experience including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Responsibilities
- Own multiple backend services end-to-end including architecture, REST APIs, and databases.
- Design, build, and debug asynchronous and concurrent systems such as task queues and event-driven flows.
- Utilize AI coding assistants to accelerate design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Manage third-party API integrations, including cost control and rate-limiting.
- Mentor junior/mid engineers and contribute to backend technical standards.
- Own observability tooling and participate in on-call rotations as a first responder.
- Translate product requirements into technical specifications and lead API design reviews.
