Requirements
- Fluent in Python programming.
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the 4-month program duration.
- Strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
- Interest in economics or policy research.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
- Ability to implement ideas quickly and communicate clearly.
- Adaptability and willingness to contribute to team priorities.
- Skilled at writing up and communicating results, even null or unexpected ones.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct empirical research on AI's economic effects using external data sources.
- Develop new methodological approaches for studying AI's impact on labor markets, the future of work, and society.
- Analyze the offense–defense balance for AI-enabled cyber and bio capabilities.
- Measure model performance increases with custom harnesses.
- Identify market-driven mechanisms that could improve societal resilience to AI-related threats.
- Identify metrics relating to AI R&D that could serve as early warning signals for recursive self-improvement.
- Write up and communicate results to internal teams and external stakeholders.
