How We Work

You will join an extremely collaborative group. We approach AI research as an empirical science, valuing impact and long-term goals over smaller puzzles. Our team focuses on steerable, trustworthy AI. We hold frequent research discussions to ensure high-impact work. While we are remote-friendly, we value in-person collaboration. You will be expected to work from our San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle offices at least 25% of the time. This structure fosters deep connections while offering flexibility.

Engineering at Anthropic

You will solve complex engineering challenges to build the next generation of AI. We require strong Python skills and expertise in large language models like Claude. Our teams redesign how Claude interacts with external data sources, building novel architectures and training models. You will develop scalable distributed information retrieval systems, including search engines and knowledge graphs. We also optimize data center resource efficiency, managing massive compute infrastructure. You will work on production ML systems and cloud infrastructure, driving both research and implementation.
