Requirements
- Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact, complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
- Skill in navigating vague problems and executing innovative solutions effectively.
- Professional experience building privacy solutions (e.g., tracker blockers, differential privacy, or similar technologies).
- Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and the current solution space.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to attend meetings on camera via video conferencing.
- Ability to travel at least twice a year for an all-hands meetup and a team retreat.
- Ability to commit to an average of 40 hours per week.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex projects across key company-wide objectives.
- Design systems for improving search indexes and AI features without compromising user privacy.
- Build new features for the Tracker Radar crawler to detect privacy threats.
- Implement and maintain privacy features like Web Tracking and Email Protections.
- Own major components of privacy technology and manage their lifecycle.
- Participate in privacy review and audit processes to ensure product alignment with privacy principles.
- Mentor other engineers to support career and team growth.
