Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the United States
- 15+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on data security, cybersecurity, and privacy
- Significant experience managing cyber incident response
- Significant experience negotiating security and privacy components of complex commercial contracts
- Experience advising executive leadership and boards of directors
- Experience managing a global team of lawyers
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture and data flows in SaaS
- Deep understanding of global privacy and AI laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act)
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on a wide range of data security, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance matters
- Lead the legal side of incident management and response
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations for implementing Privacy/Security by Design
- Manage and mentor the existing privacy team of four lawyers
- Serve as key partner to Security, Compliance, and IT teams
- Advise executive leadership and the board of directors
