Requirements
- Juris doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction
- A minimum of two years of legal experience
- Experience in renewable energy industry
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts such as EPC agreements, capital equipment procurement agreements, or power purchase agreements
- Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, and an ability to fulfill leadership responsibilities assigned
- Strong understanding of the laws in areas of expertise and proficient in their interpretation and application
- Experience managing commercial disputes
- Possess effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Must be able to handle heavy workload, critical time constraints, multiple project responsibilities and continually changing priorities
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and manage engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements
- Draft, negotiate, and manage equipment supply and other procurement-related agreements
- Draft, negotiate, and manage operations and maintenance agreements
- Draft, negotiate, and manage master services agreements, and other services agreements in connection with the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy power plants
- Draft, negotiate, and manage non-disclosure agreements
- Advise management on business transactions involving customers, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Proactively manage both upstream and downstream risk across multiple contracts and projects
- Assist and/or represent the company in contract negotiations with all business partners
- Advise the company on claims and disputes with subcontractors, suppliers, and other business partners
- Manage outside legal counsel and consultants
