Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited institution.
  • State bar passage and in good standing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Significant knowledge of relevant employment laws.
  • Proven ability to lead complex litigation and negotiations with minimum oversight.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and identify legal issues and develop strategies.
  • Experience leading in a data-driven organization.
  • Willing and able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute WelbeHealth’s employment legal strategy in support of a diverse workforce and multi-state operations.
  • Serve as the lead legal advisor on all employment litigation and pre-litigation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Manage all claims and disputes brought by third parties.
  • Oversee sensitive internal investigations involving employee complaints and regulatory exposure.
  • Maintain current knowledge of key federal and state employment law and advise on regulatory matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies and tools to minimize employment-related litigation risk.
  • Draft employment related documents such as policies, separation agreements, and arbitration agreements.
  • Lead employment-law readiness for entry into new states.
  • Support training initiatives for team members on compliance, risk awareness and preventative practices.
  • Work directly with outside counsel on issues requiring specialized legal consultation.
