Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited institution.
- State bar passage and in good standing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Significant knowledge of relevant employment laws.
- Proven ability to lead complex litigation and negotiations with minimum oversight.
- Ability to proactively anticipate and identify legal issues and develop strategies.
- Experience leading in a data-driven organization.
- Willing and able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute WelbeHealth’s employment legal strategy in support of a diverse workforce and multi-state operations.
- Serve as the lead legal advisor on all employment litigation and pre-litigation matters from intake through resolution.
- Manage all claims and disputes brought by third parties.
- Oversee sensitive internal investigations involving employee complaints and regulatory exposure.
- Maintain current knowledge of key federal and state employment law and advise on regulatory matters.
- Develop and implement strategies and tools to minimize employment-related litigation risk.
- Draft employment related documents such as policies, separation agreements, and arbitration agreements.
- Lead employment-law readiness for entry into new states.
- Support training initiatives for team members on compliance, risk awareness and preventative practices.
- Work directly with outside counsel on issues requiring specialized legal consultation.
