Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in content creation, media outreach, and communications strategy
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Superior project management and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Proficiency with PC/Windows and MS Word
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Familiarity with CMS such as Drupal and WordPress preferred
- Familiarity with media outreach platforms such as Cision preferred
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO best practices preferred
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements communication/media strategies across multiple channels
- Convenes quarterly strategy meetings to map out priority activities
- Identifies, scopes, and manages communications projects with creative and digital teams
- Establishes relationships with journalists and pitches stories
- Writes, edits, and distributes media materials including press releases and op-eds
- Collaborates with program staff to co-create messaging documents
- Tracks press hits and metrics for internal reporting
- Manages communications consultants for specific projects
