Requirements
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably with nonprofits or values-aligned clients.
- Equity-informed mindset and commitment to social justice.
- Hands-on experience administering leave and accommodation processes with specific knowledge of California, New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon requirements.
- Experience leading HR projects like policy creation, audits, or onboarding/offboarding systems.
- Experience managing end-to-end HR project delivery, including client communication and timeline management.
- Working knowledge of compliance areas including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and wage & hour law.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn ClickUp, Slack, and Google Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to build documentation and processes for others.
- Ability to work independently and during 9 AM – 5 PM CST hours.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an HR point of contact for assigned clients, providing responsive support.
- Manage employee relations, policy interpretation, and leave/accommodation compliance across multiple states, specifically CA, NY, MA, and OR.
- Attend client meetings to provide updates, follow-ups, and documentation.
- Drive execution on HR deliverables like employee handbooks, onboarding/offboarding toolkits, and performance frameworks.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using ClickUp.
- Coordinate with the Client Account Manager for scope questions and meeting logistics.
- Delegate formatting, research, or administrative tasks to project support staff.
- Draft and refine internal SOPs and processes as systems mature.
