Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience in inventory or merchandise planning, ideally in e-commerce or retail.
- Experience owning Open-to-Buy at the department or category level.
- Proficiency in retail math, forecasting, and inventory planning concepts.
- Excel power user capable of translating data insights into clear actions.
- Experience managing vendor dynamics, forecasts, and projections.
- Ability to work directly in planning systems for approximately 80% of the time.
- Highly tactical and execution-focused approach to managing multiple moving priorities.
- Strong communication skills for partnering with Merchandising and Supply Chain.
- Adaptable and proactive mindset to pivot as business needs change.
- Experience or willingness to use AI tools for daily task efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own Open-to-Buy for your departments, managing sales, inventory, margin, and turn targets through disciplined execution.
- Maintain and update forecasts in the planning system, keeping them accurate and aligned with current trends and business needs.
- Execute replenishment and order writing for your categories, managing the end-to-end order pipeline.
- Partner with Merchandising on day-to-day business decisions, supporting assortment execution and inventory strategies.
- Own vendor forecasting and projections, leading regular planning meetings with vendors.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain on inbound timing, inventory flow, and near-term execution needs.
- Monitor weekly sales and inventory performance, flag risks and opportunities, and adjust plans as needed.
- Support pre-season planning by building bottom-up forecasts.
- Prioritize top-volume and top-registered SKUs to maximize revenue and customer experience.
- Use data and AI-enabled tools to improve forecast accuracy and streamline execution.
