Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, partnerships, or business development within the energy sector.
- Demonstrated track record of closing complex, multi-million dollar deals.
- Strong understanding of utilities, demand-side management programs, and distributed energy resources (DERs).
- Experience selling grid-facing solutions such as demand response, virtual power plants (VPPs), or DER aggregation.
- Ability to operate as a self-directed operator in a fast-moving environment with limited oversight.
- Strategic market development skills to identify opportunities and move them into commercial agreements.
- Exceptional executive communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory and stakeholder environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, advance, and close complex enterprise partnerships with utilities.
- Own the entire sales lifecycle from opportunity creation through contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified utility opportunities using a proactive hunter mentality.
- Translate grid challenges into actionable opportunities for virtual power plant solutions.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior utility leaders in grid planning, DER strategy, and regulatory affairs.
- Navigate complex multi-party ecosystems involving regulators, market operators, and DER platform providers.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to expand market presence.
- Collaborate with internal product, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure successful program deployments.
