Engineering at Renew Home

You'll tackle complex challenges in optimizing home energy use by developing and deploying algorithms that co-optimize devices like thermostats, home batteries, and electric vehicles. The engineering team focuses on end-to-end algorithm development, from discovery to production. They analyze diverse datasets, including device temperature, energy consumption, user interactions, grid carbon emissions, weather, and energy markets, to inform product direction. The tech stack includes Python, PostgreSQL, Prefect, AWS/GCP (CDK, ECS/EKS, RDS, Redshift, S3), Apache, Git, and Jira. Engineers lead the design of complex, scalable software systems and uphold high standards in code quality, testing, security, and operational excellence.
