Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
- 12+ years of legal experience, including meaningful experience in both a leading law firm and an in-house legal department.
- Experience supporting healthcare, healthcare technology, SaaS, AI, or other highly regulated technology businesses.
- Prior experience leading and developing legal teams while remaining actively engaged in legal execution.
- Demonstrated success advising executive leadership teams on complex legal and business matters.
- Exceptional commercial judgment with the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
- Outstanding negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong experience with commercial contracting, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and litigation management.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the company's chief legal advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
- Develop and execute the company's overall legal strategy, ensuring legal priorities support business growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing legal team including Associate General Counsel and Commercial Counsel.
- Personally negotiate, draft, and advise on complex commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, and healthcare contracts.
- Lead all corporate governance activities, entity management, and governance best practices.
- Identify and mitigate emerging legal and regulatory risks across healthcare, privacy, AI, and corporate regulations.
- Lead legal support for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and financings.
