Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to cash management, reconciliations, custodial accounts, or client financial accounts.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and general accounting practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger activities, and financial reporting is preferred.
- Experience managing custodial, trust, escrow, client fund, or similar financial structures is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of treasury management, financial services, asset management, or custody-related accounting practices is a plus.
- Experience with accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and detailed analyses of custodial accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of client assets, cash transactions, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and balances.
- Monitor custodial account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure all custodial transactions are properly documented, authorized, and recorded according to internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage daily cash receipts, deposits, and custodial transaction records while maintaining accurate documentation of cash movements.
- Prepare and record bank and cash reconciliation entries, supporting accurate revenue, receivable, and custodial balance reporting.
- Monitor aged receivables, communicate professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances, and support collection activities.
- Assist with treasury management activities by reviewing cash activity and identifying unusual transactions or variances.
- Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations, client service, management teams, financial institutions, auditors, and vendors to resolve accounting matters.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve reconciliation procedures, reporting processes, and accounting workflows.
