Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Strong background in backend engineering, data modeling, and data-intensive applications.
- Experience working with technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Postgres, dbt, Dagster, Snowflake, or similar modern platforms.
- Ability to guide architectural decisions and influence technical direction.
- Experience partnering with Product and cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Strong understanding of software development practices, engineering processes, and scalable system design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineers, executives, and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous, rapidly changing, and highly collaborative environment.
- Strong leadership mindset with a focus on mentoring, team growth, and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Own the engineering roadmap and technical strategy, helping prioritize initiatives that improve product capabilities, scalability, and customer value.
- Partner with engineers to design reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions across application, data platforms, and infrastructure.
- Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering decisions while balancing speed, quality, scalability, and long-term business needs.
- Drive engineering best practices around code quality, testing, observability, reliability, documentation, and operational maturity.
- Provide technical guidance across modern technologies including backend systems, data platforms, cloud-native services, and related engineering tools.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through coaching, feedback, career planning, and performance management.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning within the engineering organization.
