Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, commercial sales, or territory management.
  • Experience in plumbing, building materials, commercial construction, or wholesale distribution.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and distributors.
  • Demonstrated success managing a territory and influencing complex sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales management tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 65% within the Midwest territory including driving and overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Construction Management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with regional objectives and business priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage project opportunities to build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to influence product specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with sales teams and distribution partners to coordinate customer engagement.
  • Develop pricing and proposal strategies balancing customer value and profitability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and channel teams to share market insights.
  • Provide forecasts, project updates, and competitive intelligence to support territory planning.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Support field sales teams through coaching and collaboration.
