Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business development, commercial sales, or territory management.
- Experience in plumbing, building materials, commercial construction, or wholesale distribution.
- Proven ability to build relationships with developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and distributors.
- Demonstrated success managing a territory and influencing complex sales cycles.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales management tools.
- Ability to travel up to 65% within the Midwest territory including driving and overnight travel.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Construction Management preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with regional objectives and business priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
- Identify, qualify, and manage project opportunities to build a strong sales pipeline.
- Use a consultative sales approach to influence product specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner with sales teams and distribution partners to coordinate customer engagement.
- Develop pricing and proposal strategies balancing customer value and profitability.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and channel teams to share market insights.
- Provide forecasts, project updates, and competitive intelligence to support territory planning.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Support field sales teams through coaching and collaboration.
