Requirements

  • 8+ years of business development or sales experience in the utilities, IPP, or broader energy sector.
  • Direct experience selling into utilities is required.
  • Strong professional network built over a sustained career in the energy space.
  • Proven track record selling SaaS/DaaS or data and analytics solutions into energy and utility markets.
  • Demonstrated understanding of utility operations including storm response, outage management, and battery dispatch economics.
  • Sharp negotiation and deal-structuring skills with the ability to navigate multi-stakeholder utility procurement.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to help scale a growing business.
  • Excellent executive presence with the ability to present to VP- and C-level buyers.
  • Disciplined CRM hygiene using Salesforce and accurate pipeline forecasting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Energy Management, or related discipline; MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new business across investor-owned and public power utilities, grid operators, IPPs, and battery storage operators and developers.
  • Own the full sales cycle including prospecting, discovery, demo, negotiation, and close, while documenting progress in Salesforce.
  • Position weather radar and forecasting products to support utility storm response, outage preparation, and grid reliability.
  • Target battery storage and generation customers for dispatch optimization, state-of-charge management, and renewable output forecasting.
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder utility buying centers including T&D operations, emergency management, and grid operations.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement and Product teams to tailor proposals and demos to specific utility needs.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to provide operational requirements and competitive intelligence to the Product team.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events to build brand presence and relationships.
