Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep focus on designing and operating high-scale distributed systems.
- Proven track record of evolving complex systems and driving technical maturity.
- Expertise in TypeScript/Node.js.
- Experience with synchronous (Websockets, gRPC, REST) and asynchronous (Kafka/PubSub) communication patterns.
- Advanced database design pattern skills (sharding, partitioning, CQRS).
- Expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes) at scale.
- Experience defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-organizational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identify and lead the resolution of complex, systemic problems affecting platform stability and speed.
- Design strategies for system scalability, focusing on database sharding, caching, and asynchronous processing.
- Define and drive adoption of resilience patterns such as circuit breaking, graceful degradation, and active-active failover.
- Lead the maturation of the technical stack, including libraries, frameworks, and infrastructure choices.
- Enforce architectural rigor as a member of the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to minimize technical debt.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers on distributed systems trade-offs and best practices.
