Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience with a focus on healthcare data.
- Deep expertise in DICOM (tags, transfer syntaxes, WADO/QIDO) and HL7/FHIR.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js; Go experience is highly desirable.
- Proven track record building pipelines for massive medical imaging datasets.
- Expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL schema design.
- Experience with data lakes and warehouses like BigQuery or Snowflake.
- Experience with stream processing using Kafka or Dataflow.
- Expertise in Kubernetes container orchestration at scale.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA/GDPR compliance and PHI protection.
- Ability to communicate architectural value to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and enforce the integrity of the logical data model for internal services and external integrations.
- Architect and optimize high-throughput ingestion pipelines for DICOM images and HL7 messages.
- Lead the interoperability strategy for FHIR, HL7, and DICOM standards.
- Design 'compliance as code' infrastructure to meet HIPAA, ISO 27001, and SOC2 requirements.
- Define data governance patterns for residency, retention, and deletion.
- Solve distributed data consistency problems across the platform architecture.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers on medical data standards and distributed patterns.
