Requirements
- Master’s degree (MPH, MSPH, or related discipline) in epidemiology, health outcomes research, public health, statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience leading epidemiological research within the pharmaceutical industry or consulting environment.
- Experience designing and analyzing epidemiological studies, including cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional studies.
- Knowledge of statistical methods such as survival analysis, propensity score matching, and repeated measures analysis.
- Demonstrated experience publishing original epidemiological research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience working with real-world datasets, including electronic health records, claims data, and safety databases.
- Ability to retrieve, analyze, and interpret safety information from complex datasets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to interpret statistical analysis results and familiarity with analytical tools such as SAS, R, or similar platforms.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate scientific concepts clearly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological data analyses using analytical platforms to support understanding of disease patterns, safety signals, and key scientific deliverables.
- Perform literature reviews and critically evaluate epidemiological study designs, methodologies, and findings from published research.
- Contribute epidemiology expertise to safety reports and regulatory documents, including periodic safety reports, risk management plans, and other safety deliverables.
- Support the design, development, and reporting of epidemiological studies, including protocols and research plans.
- Generate presentations, reports, data summaries, and visual materials communicating study findings to internal stakeholders.
- Author and contribute to epidemiological publications and scientific communications.
- Support product strategy through epidemiological insights and differentiation initiatives.
- Promote strong epidemiological practices when collaborating with internal teams, external experts, and research partners.
- Interpret statistical analysis outputs and apply findings to safety assessments and scientific recommendations.
- Collaborate with safety science teams and cross-functional partners to support patient safety evaluations and risk management activities.
