Requirements
- CPA designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive professional experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and industry.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing US indirect tax compliance (sales and use tax, SaaS taxation, economic nexus).
- Experience with multi-state tax registrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Netsuite proficiency is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, payroll, expenses, and taxation.
- Oversee month-end close for Canadian and US entities and prepare consolidated financial statements.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and prepare plan-to-actual variance analysis.
- Lead financial year-end close procedures and coordinate with external tax consultants.
- Research and establish company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to the team.
