Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customs Administration, Law, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, customs operations, import/export management, or international logistics.
  • Strong expertise in HTS classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin analysis, and global customs frameworks.
  • Experience managing duty drawback programs, customs optimization initiatives, and trade compliance projects.
  • Knowledge of import permits, export licensing, and international requirements for controlled or regulated materials.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, export controls, sanctions programs, and international trade practices.
  • Ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist, or Certified Global Business Professional certifications are preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, controls, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export controls, sanctions requirements, and country-specific trade regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on international supply chain activities and business operations.
  • Lead internal trade compliance reviews, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain global Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification frameworks.
  • Manage customs classification, country-of-origin analysis, customs declarations, and broker coordination.
  • Oversee Importer of Record and Exporter of Record requirements for cross-border shipments.
  • Develop and optimize duty management strategies, including duty drawback programs and free trade agreements.
  • Coordinate import permits, export licenses, and regulatory approvals with cross-functional teams.
  • Train employees and partners on global trade compliance requirements.
