Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of z/OS installation and maintenance, including SMP/E.
- Advanced proficiency with TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.
- Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) and USS file system management.
- Experience installing software within Unix System Services (USS).
- Understanding of z/OS security, Parallel Sysplex, and Catalog management.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and implement new z/OS operating systems and system software.
- Perform maintenance and debugging of systems software.
- Monitor and tune systems software performance.
- Research and evaluate new software and hardware products.
- Provide technical leadership for automation strategy.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for key projects and initiatives.
- Handle incident, change, and problem management tasks.
- Configure z/OS environments including PARMLIB and JES2 customization.
- Coordinate with vendors and multi-disciplinary teams.
