Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
- Experience with access control design, data governance, and cost optimization for analytical platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for building reliable platform services.
- Experience building and operating containerized applications (e.g., Docker).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline design using tools like Buildkite or GitHub Actions.
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or self-service infrastructure.
- Expertise in system integrations including REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC, and identity/SSO patterns.
- Strong operational experience including on-call responsibilities and incident root cause analysis.
- Understanding of semantic layer design, LLM-integrated workflows, and agentic data tools.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement platform features enabling engineers to build and deploy data applications, including automated provisioning and service lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain integrations between the platform and internal systems such as CI/CD pipelines, identity management, and external APIs.
- Design secure data access patterns, including RBAC, dynamic data masking, and cross-database grants.
- Automate manual platform tasks like access provisioning and secret management to enable self-service workflows.
- Build telemetry, alerting, and log infrastructure to support platform reliability and incident response.
- Participate in on-call rotations and execute platform maintenance.
- Help design next-generation capabilities such as semantic layer infrastructure and AI-native data tools.
