Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent healthcare quality abstraction, clinical registry, chart review, or data abstraction experience.
  • Experience with clinical quality measures or registries such as Core Measures, NCDR, STS, GWTG, NSQIP, or NHSN.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare quality reporting, registry abstraction, and medical record interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional client and internal interaction.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex workflows.
  • Competence in EHRs, registry platforms, JIRA, Confluence, and project management tools.
  • Availability during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned data abstraction client accounts, managing routine communication, deadlines, and client questions.
  • Coordinate account activity across abstractors, client contacts, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely abstraction.
  • Monitor account progress, documentation, and status, escalating barriers or concerns early.
  • Maintain accurate client account documentation to support billing readiness, quality review, and reporting.
  • Support onboarding of new abstractors to client-specific workflows and expectations.
  • Conduct or coordinate inter-rater reliability reviews and validation activities to ensure abstraction accuracy.
  • Perform chart review, abstraction, or gap coverage duties based on client needs and account priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying trends and opportunities for quality improvement.
