Requirements
- Senior-level experience in agent engineering, blending software engineering, machine learning, and statistics.
- Experience building, training, evaluating, and operating LLM-powered or agentic products in production.
- Strong proficiency in software engineering with the ability to ship production services.
- Experience working with Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, and Docker.
- Expertise in designing multi-step agentic systems, focusing on reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous, high-risk technical problems.
- Comfortable operating in an async-first, multi-service, remote environment.
- Strong communication skills with experience interacting directly with customers.
- Pragmatic approach to engineering, prioritizing simple, robust solutions over perfection.
Responsibilities
- Design and harden multi-step, tool-using agent loops to create reliable, observable, and affordable enterprise products.
- Develop and implement evaluation strategies to measure agent performance, utilizing targeted metrics and smoke tests.
- Manage model selection, upgrades, and fine-tuning to meet product requirements.
- Optimize retrieval, ranking, and context windows to improve answer accuracy and verifiability.
- Treat cost and latency as product features by profiling, distilling, and caching models.
- Collaborate directly with customers to frame problems, define requirements, and own features end-to-end.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, pairing, and spreading agent engineering literacy.
