Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy.
- Bilingual proficiency: Read, write, and speak Spanish and English.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) current, unrestricted license or a verifiable, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certificate.
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare Part D, including pharmacy record review, claims, billing, and reimbursement.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements.
- Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies.
- Basic PC and keyboarding skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and e-mail.
Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to prescription refill requests through various channels including phone, email, and fax.
- Verify the validity and accuracy of prescription refill requests to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and dispense prescription refills efficiently according to organizational protocols.
- Provide clear and comprehensive information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile and analyze data regarding prescription refill processing key performance indicators.
- Provide administrative support to clinical staff for special projects, studies, and reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflow efficiency and patient care outcomes.
