Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive sales or business development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership capacity.
- Deep knowledge of K-12 education policy, state agency structures, and government procurement processes (RFPs, cooperative purchasing).
- Proven track record in public sector or government-facing sales closing complex, multi-year contracts.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to translate policy trends into revenue.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and pipeline analytics tools.
- Outstanding communication skills and executive presence.
- Ability to travel as needed for state capitals, conferences, and customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead a bold state-level sales strategy, leveraging state education agency relationships, cooperative procurement vehicles, and legislative funding opportunities.
- Build and sustain high-value government relationships with state superintendents, commissioners, board members, and legislative stakeholders.
- Drive revenue attainment through complex, multi-year state contracts, RFP and bid responses, and cooperative purchasing agreements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Government Relations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align state-level initiatives.
- Leverage CRM, pipeline analytics, and performance data to drive operational excellence.
- Monitor state education policy trends and translate market intelligence into actionable opportunities.
