Requirements
- Active, unencumbered NP or APRN license in good standing.
- Board certification in Family or Adult medicine by ANCC or AANP.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in obesity medicine.
- At least 1 year of experience in telemedicine.
- Actively hold 7+ state licenses without restrictions.
- Valid prescriptive authority.
- Ability to qualify for and obtain unrestricted licensure in additional states.
- Commitment to health equity and culturally relevant care.
- Comfortable navigating modern telemedicine platforms and digital health tools.
- Strong clinical judgment and autonomy.
- Reliable high-speed home internet.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive virtual medical weight loss care including patient evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, chronic condition management and follow-up care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, dietitians, care navigators, engagement specialists, and Registered Nurses.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe appropriate medications and evidence-based treatment regimens, and adjust care plans.
- Engage patients in shared decision-making, clearly explaining treatment options, risks, and benefits.
- Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered counseling that fosters sustainable lifestyle changes.
- Communicate effectively via synchronous telemedicine visits and asynchronous messaging.
- Participate in regular clinical team meetings and care conferences.
- Coordinate care and exchange relevant patient information with local healthcare providers.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the EHR.
- Support operational excellence by performing necessary administrative tasks and adhering to collaborative practice agreements.
