Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience including schema/API design, data modeling, and async processing.
- Deep PostgreSQL fluency including query optimization, schema design, migrations, and data integrity.
- Experience building and hardening third-party integrations, specifically in payments or financial systems.
- Track record of owning medium-to-large, ambiguous projects end-to-end as a senior individual contributor.
- Proven ability to influence architecture and technical direction beyond immediate project scope.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards for a team.
- Experience with Python and Django is considered a plus.
- Comfort working in high-ownership, early-stage environments.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver medium-to-large FinOps projects end-to-end from design through production.
- Develop deep expertise in Stripe, LayerFi, Cherry, and related billing/payments workflows.
- Participate actively in the Engineering Architecture Process to influence technical decisions.
- Lead at least one domain-level initiative such as testing standards, documentation, or code review practices.
- Mentor IC1–IC2 level engineers and act as a culture carrier for engineering practices.
