Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Substantial prior experience in substation design.
  • Proven experience as a leader of project or client teams.
  • Demonstrated competence in client team development and relationship management.
  • Proficiency with electrical engineering principles, practices, and application to design/build projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Technical proficiency with industry software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to perform complex technical computations and engineering calculations.
  • Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide leadership to junior members.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the department's daily financial, technical, and staffing operations, including timecard approvals, resource planning, and performance appraisals.
  • Act as a technical lead for civil and structural department members and mentor staff.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to support regional business goals.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams in the execution of complex infrastructure projects, managing budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
  • Apply substation engineering techniques to infrastructure design, including concept development, procurement, and construction planning.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership on business development and proposal efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
