Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in an engineering discipline.
- Substantial prior experience in substation design.
- Proven experience as a leader of project or client teams.
- Demonstrated competence in client team development and relationship management.
- Proficiency with electrical engineering principles, practices, and application to design/build projects.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Technical proficiency with industry software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Ability to perform complex technical computations and engineering calculations.
- Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide leadership to junior members.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company health and safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the department's daily financial, technical, and staffing operations, including timecard approvals, resource planning, and performance appraisals.
- Act as a technical lead for civil and structural department members and mentor staff.
- Develop and maintain client relationships to support regional business goals.
- Oversee cross-functional teams in the execution of complex infrastructure projects, managing budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
- Apply substation engineering techniques to infrastructure design, including concept development, procurement, and construction planning.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with regional leadership on business development and proposal efforts.
- Ensure compliance with engineering codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
