Requirements
- 2+ years of professional electrical engineering design experience in construction or power systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards.
- Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, Revit, and power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
- Experience working independently and mentoring junior staff.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and perform detailed design calculations focused on power system analysis.
- Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using software like SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
- Review, sign, and seal projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination.
- Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and prepare record drawings.
- Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers.
- Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.
