Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional electrical engineering design experience in construction or power systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards.
  • Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, Revit, and power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
  • Experience working independently and mentoring junior staff.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems and perform detailed design calculations focused on power system analysis.
  • Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using software like SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
  • Review, sign, and seal projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and prepare record drawings.
  • Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers.
  • Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.
