Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience in distributed systems, microservices, and high-throughput services.
  • 1+ years of people management experience, or 2+ years as a tech lead/mentor for a backend team.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Golang preferred; Java, Kotlin, C++, Rust, or similar).
  • Experience in adtech or martech, specifically with creative serving in programmatic advertising.
  • Experience with Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO), and ad markup and rendering.
  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with modern development methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Clear, transparent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with code reviews, architecture debates, and production incident support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of backend engineers managing the creative pipeline, supporting day-to-day execution, and removing blockers.
  • Execute on roadmap milestones, breaking initiatives into scoped sprints and tracking delivery status.
  • Run agile rituals including stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives while monitoring sprint health.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide tactical feedback, and support engineer growth plans.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design decisions to maintain high technical standards.
  • Coordinate with peer teams like Bidding and Data Science on cross-team dependencies.
  • Participate in incident resolution and support the team's on-call rotation to ensure production stability.
  • Assist in hiring processes and onboard new team members.
